ABOUT TOMMY WILSON
Born in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in 1934 the second eldest of nine children.
He started to take an interest in music at the age of 6. This interest continued on into his adult life, when he was conscripted into the military and joined the Scots Guards.
He remained in the Scots Guards Band for 22 years, starting with the rank of Musician and finishing with the rank of Colour Sergeant. Concert Tours included Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania and North America.
On his retirement from the Scots Guards Band he and his family emigrated from England to Canada, where they joined the rest of his family, who had emigrated in 1953.
He then became an Insurance Office Manager, until 1989. After a few years working with his son, he retired taking the same kind of interest he had in music (which he still has) in photography. His one regret is that he never took any photographs of the wonderful worldwide scenery he enjoyed visiting while playing his beloved cornet.
No opportunity is missed for him to take some really great pictures and sharing his love for photography with family and friends.
